You too, Bryan, but you're already a runner so it doesn't count as much. Sorry. File a complaint.
So we did 7.42 miles today at Lake Zorinsky. By the time we started at 3:30, it was 15°F, but Bryan would tell you that the wind chill made it feel 9. It really didn't feel that bad. In fact, I'd contend that 30°F on a bike feels a lot worse.
It was a nice long run around the entire lake with good commentary and occasional grunts about firing the snow plow guy from Bryan to help pass the time. Thanks for the run, guys. We should do it again soon.

Oh yeah, Mike got the bonus workout of helping me lug a 36" Toshiba television upstairs at my house afterwards. No, this wasn't a flat panel job; it was the old school, fully crystal tube weighing about 200 lbs. Seriously--Thanks Munson!!

well done, boys! That was a lot of fun. I'm not really even that sore, which is probably a testament to going for a run, rather than running like a bat out of hell like I usually do. Or attempt to do.
ReplyDeleteI lifted no TVs afterward and I feel inadequate.
My quads and my back!!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm feeling this morning. It's the lower back and the outside of my quads. I wish I had a dainty efficient run like Bryan does. Sorry to call it dainty, but when a tall lanky dude happily pitter patters along with small steps and has all kinds of energy and lung space to yammer the whole time while I'm suffering like a dog, my mind comes up with not so nice things to say.
I'm gonna be grumpy and no good at work today. I hope the workload is light. At least everyone goes home at 4:30 while I stay till 8:30 so maybe I can sneak in a couple hour nap.
Oh crap. The outside of the quads should be from the run, but the lower back could be from the TV. Hang on a sec. I checked the manual and found out that it weighs 170lbs. That's 85 lbs each, which is roughly 53% of your body weight. C'mon, Mike, you should be able to dead lift that a half dozen times after a 7 1/2 mile run, right?
ReplyDelete7.5 miles in snow and 15 degrees sounds like a blast. Wish I could have been there, especially for the TV. Munson, I have a pallet of bricks to move next weekend. Call me. I have to get back to my studies now.
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks, Brady, for the recipe and the ingredients. The salmon was really tasty. Although, remember what I said my woman liked? Something buttery and garlicky? Well after dinner was done she said, "The fish was great but the sweet glaze was just ok. Now if it had been buttery and garlicky..." That's verbatim. Seems like I know my woman, huh? And only after 16 years.
ReplyDeleteNo worries about the debilitating back injury. I'm just happy to help people move furniture.
Fred, let me know when/where I'm needed. And seriously, if you have burritos, I will come...
did you just call me dainty?
